Monochrome Madness

Hello lovelies,

Today's post is from the comfort of the sofa whilst eagerly awaiting a malteaser hot chocolate. I have been at work all day today so unfortunately didn't get to see my mum for Mother's day so we decided to celebrate it last night with a lovely meal.

We went to a local pub for a 2 course meal, I had veggie burger for main and chocolate fudge cake for dessert (yum, yum, yum). It was extraordinarily busy, everyone must have had the same idea about trying to miss the Sunday dinner madness. We had a lovely time and a good catch up as even though I still live at home its rare I'm in unless I'm sleeping! it's nice just to spend some time with your family and have a good ol'chat.

Here's what I wore, I am in love with these trousers!

Blazer- Select
Black vest- Select
Monochrome check trousers- Select
Bag- Asda

Heels- Primark
Necklace- Select

Red lipstick- Ruby Woo from MAC

Happy Chappies!
Flowers for my Lovely Mummy

So there's my weekend, Sunday was filled with work followed by a short stroll around our local park to enjoy what was left of the warm sun.

Hope you all had a lovely Sunday

Strike!

Hello Lovelies,

Here is another outfit post for you to get your teeth into, I went bowling tonight and although the title says strike that was pretty wishful thinking! it was more gutter ball with my track record ha ha.

The past few days have been filled with endless work and so this weekend I am letting my hair down and having a bit of fun. Me and Stephen don't get much time to go out properly so we jumped at the chance when his brother and girlfriend invited us out with them for an evening of bowling and drinks.

I wanted to keep the look casual yet slightly dressy, so here's what I went for:

Pale Blue Blazer- Peacocks
White tee- Primark
High waisted black jeans- Select
White pumps- Primark

I had to alter the pictures so that you could actually see my outfit as it was fairly dark outside!

Necklace- New Look
Hair- messy curls pinned up

I vowed to be a better blogger and take some photos of our night but unfortunately I forgot, I am however going out tonight for an early mother's day meal with my family as I'm working Sunday. So I will try to remember to take some tonight :)

Hope you all had a good Friday night!

An outfit for £21?!

Hello Lovelies,

Today I thought I would share with you the ultimate bargain of an outfit- including shoes! Impossible I hear you say, nope I'm not kidding this whole outfit really did cost just £21.00

Although the past few weeks have been lovely and sunny, the rain has soon made its presence noticed, I decided that I needed a thin waterproof jacket for the days when it's too warm for a coat but too wet to go without. My destination? Primark!

Khaki waterproof jacket - Primark- £9.00!

White tee- Primark- £3.00
Jeans- Primark - £7.00
Pumps- Primark- £3.00
Just on cue the rain began
Close up of todays hair and make-up, I opted for messy curls, winged eyeliner and an orange red lip in order to fit with the spring trend :)

There you have it; a jacket, top, jeans and pumps for only £21.00! You cannot complain at that price and I have a feeling with the indecisive weather just lately this jacket will be very handy, it folds up to almost nothing and therefore if the sun does make an appearance it is easy to pop it in your bag

What do you think will be your wardrobe essential this spring?

Lusting After | Home Décor

Hello Lovelies,

As some of you may have read in my previous posts, I am hoping to move out with my fiancé this year. This has caused me to spend a lot of time lusting over the home décor posts on pinterest (if you don't have one, make one!). I love getting inspiration for décor ideas and colour combinations, I use pinterest for everything, from make-up to weddings it holds some wonderfully inspiring images.

I thought I would dedicate this post to some of the images I intend to incorporate into my own home (once purchased, atm it is imaginary ;) ).

I love the sophisticated look of white, the idea of mixing white with silvers and greys looks effortless yet chic at the same time. I intend to use white as a running theme within my home but mix it up with varying accent colours throughout the year.

Black and White are classic and timeless therefore you will not need to change the décor much when you feel a bit fed up, just purchase new accessories. Teal goes beautifully with white and silver for a more fresh spring/summer feel and you can transition the teal to black for winter, or red for Christmas. The possibilities are endless!

I currently have a box in my room that is dedicated to little bits and bobs for the future home and I intend to fill it up gradually ready for our big move.

Do any of you love home décor?

The Sunday Post

Hello Lovelies,

I have been reading blogs for a few years now and I have always enjoyed reading peoples ''Sunday Posts''. I personally can't do one every Sunday for the sheer fact I often work, so it not make for the most exciting read!

However, when I do get a Sunday off I love to go for a nice long afternoon walk (weather permitting). Just lately the weather has been improving so I have been grabbing every opportunity to get outside and make the most of it.

Lovely scenery, sun is shining.

Tilly enjoys a good Sunday walk too
I thought I would include a quick snap of me, I kept it casual today with a light jumper, jeans and minimal make-up. I always find that adding a bold lip makes any minimal make-up look more put together.

Hope you've all had a lovely Sunday!

Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturiser: A review

Hello Lovelies,

I have a review for you today! I have been using the Vaseline Spray & Go moisturiser now for long enough to have a good understanding of how I feel about it as a product.

At first when I saw it I thought it was going to be one of those slightly gimmicky products, however, I was wrong and the fact that it is a spray rather than in a squeezy tube does really make a difference! I find that it is so much quicker to apply once I get out of the shower. I roughly towel dry my skin leaving it still slightly damp and then spray this all over to lock it more moisture.

It claims it can : ''absorb in seconds'', ''instantly leave skin soft'' and ''dispense easily with one all over spray''. I find all of these to be quite accurate although I do not dispense all over in one spray, I like to start off with my legs and rub it all in, then work my way up. I find that it doesn't spray straight on and you still have to rub it in, but the formula is so light and absorbent that it doesn't take as much effort as a thicker moisturiser.

I purchased the Cocoa radiant version of the spray as there is a range of different scents. I love cocoa butter and this smells exactly the same so it leaves my skin smelling and feeling amazing! It also does leave a nice sheen to the skin which is always a nice edition, especially when summer comes around and you want your skin to have that nice dewy look.

So for an easy over all review here are the Pros and Cons of Vaseline Spray & Go moisturiser in my personal opinion:

Pros:
- time saving
- Light formula so drying time is faster
- smells amazing
- leaves skin with a nice sheen
- effective daily moisturiser

Cons:
- It's not as luxurious feeling as a thicker moisturiser
- those with extra dry skin may require a more hydrating cream

There we have it, from my own personal view the Pros of this product certainly outweigh the Cons and for those reasons Vaseline Spray & Go will now take its place in my daily routine.

Hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts on this product!

Summer styling- Egypt

Hello Lovelies,

I'm back with a summer styling post again, this time it's for more a conservative place such as Egypt/morocco.

I decided to do this as I have been to Egypt myself and before I went I was concerned about what I should pack as I didn't want to cause any offence. In places like Sharm el Shiekh you can wear pretty much what you want, however, women do attract a lot of unwanted attention and therefore I would still recommend covering up as much as you can. Here is what I've chosen:
Blue jumpsuit- select- £18.00
Coral belted maxi dress- select- £12.00
Monochrome tribal trousers- asda- £12.00
Gold triangle necklace- select- £6.00
Black triabal pattern maxi dress- river island- £32.00
Cami vest in orange or black- river island- £12.00
Blue trousers- river island- £30.00
Cream bag- miss selfridge- £35.00
Colourful tribal necklace- Miss selfridge- £16.50
Abstract midi skirt- new look- £17.99
Rose print fringe kimono- new look- £19.99
Beige and black sandals- new look- £15.99
Sunglasses- new look- £4.99

All the pieces can be mixed and matched, they also have a vibrant colour palette to match Egypt's beautiful architecture and weather! It can stay in the 40's in july and august so remember to pack cool fabrics.

I know there are still issues with travel to Egypt due to the on going unrest, but if you do get the chance to go I highly recommend it. It is such a beautiful place with amazing marine life, weather and rich history.

I will now share with you some of my own photos from when we went to Egypt last summer

As you can see we had an amazing action packed time!
what destination would you like to see next?

I love the slight cropped look of the top!

Primark Haul

Hello Lovelies,

I have a confession to make.. I shop too much! I can't seem to walk by Primark without having a wander around, which inevitably leads to spending. I have been feeling very under the weather lately with an horrendous cold so I thought I would cheer myself up by buying a few new treats.

I haven't had chance to take any outfit posts as I've either been in my gym gear or my lounging around clothes the past few days. I will try and make more of a conscious effort to get dressed this week but when your ill I think its acceptable to lounge around haha.

Here are the things I picked up from Primark today:

 White Lace box Shirt- £10.00
I love the neon orange thread that's woven into the lace of the top, it adds
just a lovely pop of colour and will look amazing in the spring and summer
period

Navy floral collared box top- £8.00
I have a bit of an obsession with collars, I have since they first made their
appearance and I think they will be a permanent wardrobe fixture of mine. In spring
and summer I tend to replace my beloved black with navy, for a softer take on a
neutral tone.

Black cutout scallop shorts- £10.00
When I saw these I could not believe they were only £10.00! I adore the silky material
and the scallop cut out pattern is the perfect hint of detail to make the shorts even more
feminine.

Trainers- £7.00
I needed some new gym trainers as mine were beginning to form holes!

Cut out shoes/sandals- £6.00
These are a mixture of a sandal and a shoe, a shoedal maybe?
they will be perfect for those warm city days were sandals aren't practical
but shoes are too warm.

Have any of you been thinking about your spring wardrobe yet?

Summer Styling | Ibiza

Hello lovelies,

Now todays post was actually going to be 'how to make protein pancakes' but as is always the case when you plan something, it went wrong. They didn't resemble pancakes, more like scrambled goop. I think I put too much milk in- whoops!

I didn't want to leave you postless so thought I would do this weeks summer styling post for Ibiza! I absolutely love Ibiza, its a beautiful and vibrant holiday destination for all clubbers alike. There are clubs that cater for all music tastes, beach parties and the infamous boat parties.

If you are planning a trip to Ibiza this summer here are my top picks!

Aztec bikini top- River island- £16.00

Acid wash denim shorts- River Island- £28.00

Orange vest top – River island- £12.00

Tropical criss cross bikini- New look- £14.99

Tropical bikini bottoms- New look- £9.99

 Metalic floral skort- Topshop- £42.00

 Pink vest top- Select- £5.00

 Floral kimono- Select- £16.00

 Chunky buckled sandals- Missguided- £34.99

 Round sunglasses- Asos- £10.00

Coral embellished kaftan- River Island- £28.00

Black crop top- River island- £25.00

Monochrome abstract shorts- River Island- £20.00

Orange spike necklace- River island- £7.00

Rucksack bag- River island - £30.00

I love having the ability to clash vibrant patterns and neon colours, these will look amazing with sunkissed skin from the all day boat parties to the UV night parties.

I thought seeing as I have been to Ibiza that I would share some of my photos with you all :)

What would you take to Ibiza?
